Forgot the name of an anime!

The protagonist is a kid who has been thrown into a virtual world. He has to collect all the chips in order to exit it. (When pieced together all the chips form a sphere. There are lots of chips.) Each chip can be attained in a different world and each has a unique power. When a chip is used, it disappears (?) In the first one world, he gets the chip due to love. Then he’s immediately transported to the second world where he finds himself in a monster train which eats its passengers in a post-apocalyptic setting.

I remember he gains a few allies- a robotic talking lion, a girl, another boy (and probably man ?). I believe each person had a unique robot (or spirit) manifested from themselves. I also remember the girl betraying them in middle (was quite a plot twist. I even shipped her with the other kid and I’m sure he seemed loved her as well.) She sided with a villain who threw a sonic attack (something similar) towards the protagonist’s manifested robot (again maybe spirits). Even her spirit was effected by the attack and was pleading her to let it return inside her but she refused. She appeared numb and possessed when she did that .

And I wasn’t able to watch the rest. 😭 I watched this on TV about 7 to 8 years ago. I’ve tried searching it in a lot of places with little to no results. Please help. Any info would be nice.
