>So this OVA was basically released as a gift for purchasing the Clear Card manga, and at the time the marketing (calling it a “Prologue”) made it seem like it was rewriting anime canon because Season 1 of the Clear Card anime was also coming out around the same time.
>CLAMP made this transition really sloppy and confusing. Simply put, it’s not rewriting anything. Episode 70 and the 2nd movie are still canon for the Clear Card anime. This is primarily a cute OVA animating the manga ending for manga fans. However, there will be confusing details moving forward (that I hope CLAMP makes clearer in Season 2). I can’t say more without spoiling Clear Card, though.
