Character who explodes every time they get confused and think too hard?

Pretty much the title. I remember it was kind of a joke to not ask them difficult questions in fear of them exploding. However, I feel it was used to the main group’s advantage at one point in a battle. Could be wrong though. Google has been zero help, so I’d appreciate any information.
