This is increasingly becoming one of those things that pulls me out of a story and also gives me massive secondhand embarrassment. It seems insane to me but I figure it’s possible that it really is just a big cultural difference. Shows like last season’s Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten come off as really silly to me when that’s such a big part of the story but I figure if it really is a thing that happens then I could probably trick myself into not being as bothered by it.
