It ached in her bones. The need to see the world for what it was and not the illusion of what it seemed to be. Locked behind the safety of palace walls was all Mauve had ever known. She has lived a life of quiet luxury, something most people would kill for, yet she finds herself yearning for more.

There is so much to see, to feel, to touch.

A royal’s life always had so much planned out for them. Their clothes, food, activities, and whom they can and can’t talk to. The list goes on.

But this was no life for her. That much she was certain of. The plan was set in stone. In the wee hours of the morning, while the palace’s occupants still rested in their plush beds; Mauve would quietly head to the stables, and steal a mare. Finally, her life was hers to own and there wouldn’t be any looking back after this.

She wouldn’t be dictated any longer, for the world would soon be her oyster, and there is so much more to life than, well, then this…

Prompt Ideas:

I know the story may seem cliche, but I feel it has room for something truly fun and exciting. A princess, or noblewoman, who is locked in a life of what feels like mediocrity for her. Being controlled at every turn sheltered away from what the world really is.

I had the idea to play Mauve as a half-elf, but I can play her as another race too. (Let me know if you have a preference!) She’s feeling smothered under the strict rules of the palace and has a plan to escape.

I have a few ideas of how our characters can meet but I don’t necessarily want to dictate your character for you. I have ideas ranging from her running off and her family hiring your character (a hired sword, of sorts) to bring her home. I also have ideas of my character running off and accidentally finding her way into a seedier part of the kingdom, where she comes to be helped by your character whenever she’s in an ugly situation. Maybe she’s being cornered in a tavern, or down some alleyway.

I’m looking for adventure, tension, romance, (of course plenty of smut, too!) slice-of-life moments, and just a general chill vibe where our characters explore together and grow close. The attraction can be more immediate and hot and heavy, or we can do a slow burn. I don’t have major overarching goals, I mostly want to write organically and see where the story takes us. I’m okay with light world-building but I’m very eager to write and have fun!
