I’ve posted a couple of times in this subreddit asking for anime with depressing, hopeless, and miserable themes. I initially became interested in anime because the first few anime I watched had these largely negative themes that I never realised I wanted from entertainment media. Still, these themes ARE NOT the focal point of the anime I liked. So, instead of asking for anime that has these negative themes as the central focus of the story, I will ask this instead:
Is there an anime with an overwhelmingly negative atmosphere and story despite a turnaround to something positive towards the end?
I’m just incredibly disappointed because it was suggested on various websites that there’s an anime for every kind of taste and interest, but I can’t find one that fits my own.
