So in my Japanese class, we had a discussion about anime characters’ speech patterns. We were tasked with a small homework of listing characters that talk in a certain archetype, and mine was “the lady-like talk”.
You would probably be all familiar with the ojou-sama type characters that talk very politely, ending sentences with “ですわ (desuwa) , ですのね (desu no ne) だよ(dayo), かしら (kashira), etc, have the first person pronoun “atashi” or “watakushi”,… you get the idea.
I have to categorize them into different groups too.
– Characters who are princesses or at least royal.
– Young ladies come from wealthy families.
– And the special case, characters don’t belong to the other two groups but still talk like that.
I can only name a few off the top of my head. Can you help me with this? Just naming all the characters you know that have the lady-like talk + anime name.
