Regarding AI con artists (Shexyo, Oroborus, Honkibooty, etc.)

Just a follow-up and clarification on the ban on AIslop — we’re still regularly seeing people (mostly innocently, mind you) posting stuff from “artists” whose work is 90% AI with just a few hand-drawn touches to hide the fraud. The three mentioned in OP are the most common offenders, and are pretty notorious for it (just google their name + AI and you’ll find hundreds of posts about them) but given how easy this particular grift is, there’s hundreds if not thousands of artists out there doing it.

Just like with AI in general, it’s not your fault if you post these “artists” without knowing what they really are, and we’re not going to ban you for it. Just letting you know that they do fall under the ban on AI. If you post artwork and it gets removed under our no-AI rule, feel free to reply if you don’t think it’s the case.

And to be clear, there is a gray area with some artists who use AI as a pose reference while drawing the vast majority of the work themselves. A good example of this is GuileGaze, who in the past used to just post touched-up AI, but now does his own lineart. That’s not all that much different from using a photograph as a reference, so it doesn’t fall under the no-AI rule. The kind of artists this post is about are just firing up the slop machine, then taking 15 minutes to iron out the soupy-looking clothing and genitals.

Some good tells for spotting touched-up AI slop:

  • Art style extremely similar to the majority of AI-generated hentai, especially the way skin is drawn. This isn’t the best tell, since there are plenty of human artists who just happen to draw like that, but it’s always a good first tell.

  • Extremely prolific post rates. If the “artist” is posting every day or every other day, that merits increased suspicion.

  • “Soupy” details. LLMs still struggle to get clothing details right, especially with very unconventional or detailed fantasy designs.
