Howdy y’all, been a minute since I’ve personally posted any updates. Life’s been crazy, am I right? And I would like to share some info on a trend we’ve noticed.
We as a moderation team appreciate the fact this community is so vigilant in reviewing posts for curation through upvotes on the pinned comments and reporting blatant rule violations when they rear their heads.
It honestly saves us a ton of time tracking down the patterns we need to solve cases fast. We’re sorry we’re not always overtly active and responsive.
This is a large subreddit(close to or within the top 1% I think? Go us!) and it’s thanks to y’all we can still moderate the sub while still living our personal lives. It makes the role more rewarding because it feels less like a job.
But onto the real topic of discussion: Rule 4.
Lately, we’ve seen a marked increase in reports overall relating to graphic content posted on the sub. A large increase. It’s most of the reports we receive these days. And reviewing the wording of Rule 4, I believe it’s a bit ambiguous, so I’d like to clear the air.
As you are aware, if the pinned comment caught your eye or if you review the rules before jumping into a sub, you might know that we are an “ecchi” subreddit. “Ecchi” in this sense as a label and not an artistic style, is categorized as a more soft-core style of adult manga and anime content up to and before, but not including depictions of sex.
So things like a strip tease gif, or a panel of girls at the beach in less than average bikinis, or even artistic nudity including genitalia. This means no overt phalluses or phallic objects are present onscreen or being inserted into an orifice of any kind.
“Hentai” in this context would mean straight up anime or manga pornographic content.
Now a subsection with some nuance. Bodily fluids.
Bodily fluids in this context is specifically referring to excessive amounts of bodily fluids and graphic depictions of scenes inferring heavy sexual activity is directly related to the fluids. This is typically semen on the body, depictions of ‘squirting,’ or the classic collection of condoms from the crusades that put the Pope into Rome.
Images or gifs depicting only a slight hint of physical arousal like the glistening of beads of sweat or a string of moisture coming from some lowered panties are acceptable as long as the wetness isn’t the main catching point of the image, we are a tiddycentric subreddit after all.
There’s an obvious exception for sweating due to heat, exercise, or exhaustion. People sweat. That doesn’t come across well in 2D land unless it’s pronounced.
Maybe a little more glare than real life, but as someone living in the Texas-sized air fryer that is, well… Texas, believe me people get quite wet!
*** TL;DR: *** Stop reporting every image with nudity as a violation of Rule 4: Avoid Graphic NSFW Content. Nudity is not graphic content. Sprawling a naked body out in a provocative manner with overwhelming signs of arousal is walking the line.
Now full blown sexual intercourse and/or the aftermath of sex? That’s graphic.
Overall this is just a good time to review the rules section if you haven’t lately. It’ll help you post better content and curate the best content on the sub. Thanks for the bearing with the read. I really wanted to take some time and give some insight. Know we’re still around.
We’ve witnessed a lot of consistent uploaders, but there’s been a number of first time and ex-lurkers who decided to jump in. So keep doing what you’re doing, cuz we’re still going strong.
Don’t forget we have a community Discord found here https://discord.gg/PK2j8tSC
Feel free to stop by. If it requires any maintenance be sure to let us know as we haven’t seen much activity there recently.
