It is no secret that the major anime studios rely on other, usually smaller, anime studios to aid in their production process. Either from subcontracting the in-between work to outsourcing an entire episode, major studios often need these other anime studios given the demand and impossible schedules they have to put up with. Fortunately, this is also how small studios grow into big ones and get a good rep in the industry — KyoAni being a famous example.
But I am mostly concerned in the *now*. What are the small studios of today that are doing the grunt work that are also doing an impeccable job at it. This may also be a studio you expect to see become a big player in the industry in years to come.
